Get a Library Card

How do I get my library card?

1. Complete a library card application (available at any library or right here).
2. Take your completed application and your photo ID or two pieces of official mail with your name and address to your local library.*
3. You’re done! Library cards are free if you live or own property in Delaware and $25 a year for full out-state privilege card.

4. Visitor card costs $10, and is valid for 1 month.

*Children under 18-years-old must have a parent or guardian present when signing for a library card. Parents will be liable for any fines and fee incurred by the minor’s account.
*The library is not responsible for a child’s choice of library materials or Internet sites. Parents may set a restriction on Internet access when registering their child for a library card.
